Exciting changes are on the horizon for Northwick Park Chemotherapy Service, and we're looking for skilled and motivated Band 6 Chemotherapy Nurses to join our team in the Chemotherapy Day Unit.
We have an opening for experienced and passionate nurses with chemotherapy training who are eager to contribute to the development of our chemotherapy service. We are seeking individuals who are committed, motivated, and forward-thinking to compliment our existing team and provide exceptional care to our patients.

Main duties of the job
1. To ensure that an individual programme of care is planned, implemented and evaluated for each patient within own sphere of responsibility.
2. To work as part of the multidisciplinary team ensuring the delivery of a high standard of care to the patients.
3. Support patients and carers in their information needs
4. To take charge of the day unit in the absence of the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse as required
5. To participate in all relevant aspects of the Governance process.
6. The post holder will adhere to the NMC code of Professional Conduct at all times and ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
7. To safely administer chemotherapy in keeping with local and national policy
8. To act as a positive role model at all times.

Essential
13. oFirst Level registration nursing qualification
14. o Recognised Chemotherapy/SACT course
15. oEvidence of continuing professional development
16. oIV drug administration certificate
17. oBSc Nursing or related subject or working towards.
Desirable
18. oRelevant post-registration qualification in cancer
19. oAdvanced Communication Skills Training
20. oAssessors /Mentorship qualification /Teaching Qualification
21. o Completed UKONS SACT Competency Passport
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
22. o2 years Oncology / Haematology experience
23. oChemotherapy administration and in-depth knowledge of chemotherapy regimens and haematology / oncological conditions
24. oExperience of advising on the management of treatment related toxicities and of using CTCAE to assess patients
Desirable
25. oExperience in outpatient chemotherapy setting
26. oPrevious experience at Band 6
