Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias to join a busy engineering and manufacturing environment. This role is key to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of site electrical systems and equipment.
You will play a vital role in delivering planned preventative maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to maximise equipment uptime and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and site equipment
* Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in a timely manner
* Interpret and work from electrical and mechanical drawings
* Maintain and repair a range of industrial equipment including:
o Overhead cranes and jibs
o Plasma and gas cutting machinery
o Sawing and drilling equipment
o Welding and grinding equipment
o Forklifts and sideloaders
* Perform mechanical tasks such as bearing and gear replacement
* Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety procedures and site standards
* Work independently when required, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills
* Coordinate and oversee subcontractor activities where necessary
* Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives across the site
Skills & Experience
* Time-served electrical engineering background in a maintenance environment
* NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential)
* Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems
* Experience maintaining industrial machinery and plant equipment
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
* Strong awareness of Health & Safety compliance
* Self-motivated with a proactive, hands-on approach
