Overall purpose of the role
As Assistant Registrar, you will be part of the Collections and Exhibitions team at the Whitworth, a leading university art gallery in Manchester with an internationally renowned collection of art, textiles, and wallpaper. Your responsibilities will include supporting the Gallery Registrar, coordinating inbound and outbound loans, assisting in planning and delivering exhibitions including touring projects and artist initiatives, processing collection acquisitions and disposals, and maintaining high museum standards. You will also play a key role in enhancing the profile of the Gallery’s collections and promoting art for positive social change.
Important note
This role is not eligible for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker route of the Points Based System due to new immigration rules. Candidates must demonstrate their right to work in the UK to be eligible.
