Your responsibilities will include:
Management of over 700 SKUs from 60 suppliers
Sourcing and onboarding new suppliers
Building and maintaining effective and productive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and suppliers on a global setting
Monitoring supplier performance and managing SLAs
New Product Introduction (NPI), supply chain readiness pre and post launch
Aligning supply chain strategies taking key growth areas
Benchmarking and obtaining quotations to ensure competitive pricing and value
Providing cost analysis on both new and existing products
Working with agreed KPIs and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Identifying and mitigating supply chain risks while supporting commercial opportunity analysis
Producing and presenting reports at a senior level
Understanding and following necessary governance and approvals related to procurement
What you will need to be the successful Strategic Buyer:
Analytical thinker who can work with longer term vison
Strong understanding of systems, demand planning and inventory control
Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (MRP knowledge is a plus)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – confident working with both internal stakeholders and global suppliers
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think proactively and strategically
Commercially aware, with an understanding of how procurement impacts manufacturing and customer fulfilment
Willingness to travel occasionally within the UK and potentially overseas
A supply chain qualification or equivalent experience is desirable with previous project experience
