Overview
Electrical Engineer required to join the Linford Block Plant near Stanford-le-Hope in Essex. The role involves maintenance leadership and collaboration with production and maintenance teams to sustain high operational efficiency and support World Class Maintenance initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Lead and own the 1 year rolling, and 3 - 5 year improvement plan for the assets
* Implement Written Schemes of Examination, assess equipment condition and suitability for further service and report outcomes to the business area to comply with legal requirements and business goals
* Recommend repairs and advise the Engineering and Projects Manager on restoration of “fit for purpose” condition, accept repairs and assign inspection intervals to achieve legal compliance and business goals
* Own and lead the implementation of a Risk Based Assessment programme for electrical systems equipment, ensuring compliance
* Provide electrical systems technical input in support of projects and plant modifications to deliver legal compliance and business integrity requirements
* Ensure management of change practices are followed for all modifications, upgrades or project work to electrical related systems on site
* Power system fault detection and diagnoses methods using online/offline methods, historical data and simulation modelling
* Conduct routine maintenance and updates to systems and collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve system performance
* Contribute to achieving budget targets through efficient use of materials and replacement parts
* Develop and improve the knowledge and skills of engineers, fitters and apprentices by providing training and support on electrical systems
* Maintain Health and Safety rules and regulations and ensure Safe Systems of Work are signed off and complied with toward zero harm
* Review plant availability and performance, identify gaps and improvement activity, proposing economical ways to extend life or increase mean time between failures
* Evaluate and improve preventive maintenance job plans and update inspection job plans in coordination with the Engineering Planner
* Contribute to failure analysis and corrective actions, leading RCA for plant failures when required
The Ideal Candidate
The successful applicant will have experience with electrical systems, Siemens S5 & S7, Allen Bradley, Profinet and associated plant, ideally with manufacturing (QA and production), maintenance and operation, repair and site inspection experience.
Qualifications / Requirements
* BEng or MEng in a related discipline, or QBE (Qualified by Experience)
* ESSENTIAL - 18th Edition
* Strong technical knowledge of electrical equipment combined with heavy industrial plant experience
* Technical experience of preventive, predictive and systematic maintenance – Databases, CMMS and Project Software
