This is a key leadership role that combines planning, mentoring, and hands-on engagement, rooted in a passion for youth empowerment and community building through sport. The ideal candidate will bring experience in sports coaching, youth engagement, or programme management. You will have the creativity to design inclusive and inspiring sports sessions, and the leadership to manage a team of volunteers or coaches. Your approach should focus on participation, personal development, and social connection, rather than competition alone.

* Experience working with young people, preferably in a community or youth development setting
* Proven ability to plan and deliver inclusive, engaging, and structured sports sessions
* Ability to manage and motivate a team of volunteers or assistant coaches
* Good organisational and communication skills
* Confidence working with diverse communities and young people from a range of backgrounds
* Basic safeguarding awareness and understanding of youth welfare best practices
Desirable (but not essential): Relevant coaching qualifications or certifications (e.g. FA Level 1/2, UK Coaching Certificates); experience organising community sports events or tournaments; knowledge of monitoring and evaluating youth programmes; first aid certification
* Passion for the power of sport to inspire change and well-being
* Positive role model with integrity, patience, and empathy
* Energetic, proactive, and adaptable to the needs of young participants
* Commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment
* Ability to build strong relationships and communicate with young people, parents, and partners
Training and ongoing support will be provided.
What will you be doing?
* Developing and implementing a diverse range of sports programmes aligned with our mission and needs
* Leading a team of sports volunteers and coaches to deliver high-quality sessions
* Organising tournaments, leagues, and events that encourage participation, inclusion, and community spirit
* Creating a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for all participants
* Working closely with youth leaders, families, and community partners to increase engagement and support
* Monitoring outcomes and adapting programmes to ensure maximum impact
* Representing the organisation at events, meetings, and within relevant networks
