About the Role
As a Legal Secretary, you will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to a busy residential property team handling a high volume of conveyancing matters. This Legal Secretary job offers a varied workload and would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced legal environment while delivering excellent client service and maintaining high standards of organisation and accuracy.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting fee earners with the progression of residential property transactions from instruction through to completion
* Managing file opening and closing procedures in line with compliance requirements
* Preparing legal correspondence and conveyancing documentation
* Handling Land Registry applications and post‑completion formalities
* Submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax returns accurately and within deadlines
* Assisting with file management and maintaining organised electronic and paper records
* Liaising with clients and third parties to provide updates and obtain required information
* Managing diaries, appointments and meeting arrangements for fee earners
* Providing administrative support including typing, photocopying and document preparation
* Delivering a high standard of client care and professional communication at all times
About You
You will have previous experience working as a Legal Secretary or within a fast‑paced administrative or professional services environment. This Legal Secretary job would suit someone highly organised, proactive and confident managing a busy workload within a supportive team setting.
You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
* Previous experience within a legal secretarial or conveyancing support position
* Understanding of residential property processes and conveyancing administration
