Principal Quality Control Engineer (CMM)
A Snapshot of Your Day
You will be responsible for programming (complex rotating parts) and operation of Coordinated Measuring Machines (CMM) within the product quality department. Supporting operations through developing and productionising CMM programmes to inspect complex components.
Direct interface with Design Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Managers, Quality Engineers, CMM Software Suppliers, Technicians and Subcontractors.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Applies knowledge and specialist skills to write complex CMM inspection programmes (Rotating Parts) to maintain/monitor compliance of production parts to design specifications.
2. Prepares, plans and delivers assigned CMM inspection projects, First Articles and Process Validation Verification.
3. Advise on CMM programmes and operation techniques to achieve the most professional and effective method of checking.
4. Advises QC Management on CMM operational and software developments and new techniques to ensure we remain at the forefront of CMM operational activities.
5. Will compile a library of CMM programmes for major core engine components, reducing CMM downtime in the long term.
6. Will support internal and external problem-solving investigations through dimensional CMM measurement of suspect parts.
What You Bring
7. Process / Statistical Control, Customer Care Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Specialist CMM Training on Product and Software.
8. Five years of programming experience and four years of experience in quality. Ten years of experience in gas turbines (aero-derivative, rotating equipment) and knowledge of QC techniques and processes.
9. HNC or degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
10. A comprehensive understanding of CAD, Unigraphics, IGESS, PC Demis, and Qindos systems and processes is essential to excel in the role. These competencies form the bedrock of efficient job performance. Additionally, it is imperative to possess superior communication skills to articulate intricate ideas and information pertaining to specialised subjects clearly and concisely.
