Are you an inspirational, committed and experienced social worker with management experience? Or do you want to try your hand at a management role in Social Work?
We are looking for an Assistant Team Manager to join the North Adults Social Care Team within our dedicated Mental Health Social Care service. We are based at the Whiteleaf Centre in Aylesbury and cover Princes Risborough, Aylesbury and surrounding villages to the north of the County.
You will work alongside an existing part-time Assistant Team Manager to run this dynamic, diverse and experienced team of Social Workers and Assistant Social Workers. You will manage and supervise qualified and unqualified social care staff, triage referrals, manage allocations and support the running of the team, linking in with AMHT health colleagues where the team is co-located.
This is an excellent opportunity to combine Social Work, mental health care and management skills within a service that maintains a strong Social Work identity.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the triage and allocation of Care Act and s117 Aftercare assessments within the team as well as s42 Safeguarding enquiries. You will chair Safeguarding meetings and Best Interest Meetings for your team, and support your staff to deliver strengths-based care planning to enable individuals to achieve their optimal level of independence and achieve what matters to them.
You will be responsible for supervising social workers and assistant social workers and alongside the existing Assistant Team Manager and Business Support Officer, manage and support the day to day running of the team.
