Teacher of PSHE Full-Time We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed SEN Teacher of PSHE to lead and deliver a high-quality Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) education curriculum across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 within a specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting for young people aged 11–18. The school supports up to 70 students across Years 7–13 and is committed to improving the quality of life for its pupils and wider community by nurturing potential and developing positive character traits. A strong emphasis is placed on personal development and building the skills young people need to thrive both in school and beyond. The Role The successful candidate will lead and deliver a sequenced, engaging and impactful PSHE curriculum that reflects the needs of young people with SEMH. This includes statutory Relationships and Sex Education (RSE), Health Education, careers education, preparation for adulthood, and wider personal development. Students benefit from a curriculum that is practical, relevant and skills-focused, supporting the development of emotional literacy, healthy relationships, personal safety, financial awareness, citizenship and independence. This Role Would Suit A Secondary-trained PSHE specialist A teacher with experience in Personal Development, RSE or Citizenship A teacher with strong pastoral experience and a passion for holistic educationThe Successful Candidate Will Design and implement a progressive PSHE curriculum tailored to SEMH learners Ensure statutory compliance in RSE and Health Education Embed safeguarding, online safety and contextual risk awareness within the curriculum Promote pupil voice, reflection and active citizenship Work closely with pastoral teams, safeguarding leads and external agencies Contribute to the school’s whole-school Personal Development strategyWorking in an SEMH Environment Teachers within the school are calm, relational and trauma-informed practitioners. Staff must be confident in supporting pupils who may experience emotional dysregulation, using effective de-escalation strategies and maintaining positive relationships. A strong understanding of SEMH-informed approaches such as emotion coaching, nurture principles and Zones of Regulation is highly desirable.
