About the Role
Our client, a well-established organisation, is seeking an experienced Yard Supervisor / Team Leader to oversee day-to-day operations at their busy site in Stoke-on-Trent. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to join a growing team and contribute to the smooth, safe, and efficient running of the yard.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support yard operatives in daily tasks, ensuring work is completed efficiently and safely
* Oversee the movement and processing of materials across the site
* Allocate workloads and monitor performance to meet operational priorities
* Conduct safety checks, maintain high housekeeping standards, and ensure compliance with site procedures
* Liaise with drivers, machine operators, and management to coordinate workflow
* Assist with training new staff and promoting best practices
* Contribute to continuous improvement within yard operations
Requirements
* Previous experience in a Yard Supervisor, Team Leader, or similar operational role
* Strong understanding of yard processes
* Confident leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, industrial environment
* Good awareness of health & safety standards
