Moog Aircraft Group is seeking a Product Engineer for a challenging and rewarding role. You will serve as a focal point for resolving complex technical issues related to the design, assembly, and testing of production hardware. Your role will support both the sustainment and new product introduction teams, playing a key part in the early development and implementation of new products and processes, as well as assessing aftermarket products returning from in-service.
Responsibilities Include
1. Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities, maintain processes in control, prioritize activities, and ensure quality and delivery targets are met, improving efficiency and reducing costs.
2. Support product or process changes to enhance system performance to better meet customer needs.
3. Provide technical input for new programs using APQP techniques and tools to support PPAP submissions.
4. Coordinate product integrity investigations internally and communicate findings with suppliers and customers.
5. Select and utilize appropriate procedures, equipment, and standards to produce data and assist with interpretation.
6. Specify new test equipment capable of meeting all servo valve applications as per customer specifications.
7. Collaborate with the sustainment test equipment team to troubleshoot testing issues across software, electronics, hydraulics, or product domains.
8. Perform GD&T analysis to support acceptance of non-conforming parts.
9. Travel within the UK and internationally as required.
Key Skills and Experience
* Relevant engineering qualification, such as a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience.
* Minimum of 5 years aerospace engineering experience, with knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic principles, and preferably design and project management skills.
* Experience in PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams throughout the product lifecycle.
* Experience in developing assembly and test processes, including tooling and flow line concepts.
* Strong communication skills across organizational levels.
* Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
* Experience with requirements management, validation, verification, and testing.
* Obsolescence management experience, especially with piece parts like elastomers, metallurgy, and chemicals.
* Ability to contribute to design standards and specifications.
* Support for automation and digital thread initiatives.
* Design experience for specialized tooling and test rigs.
* Six Sigma trained or equivalent, proficient in data analysis tools like Minitab.
* Self-motivated and collaborative work style.
