Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for disassembling, repairing, assembling, and testing mechanical components—especially those involving hydraulic and pneumatic systems. A strong understanding of material selection, functional testing, and quality compliance is essential.
Monday to Friday - 38 hour week. £35,000 - good company benefits and parking on site.
Key Responsibilities
* Disassemble mechanical components to assess damage and identify repair requirements.
* Determine appropriate materials and methods to be used during the repair process.
* Perform repairs according to approved Repair Instructions and Component Maintenance Manuals
* Conduct functional testing of components, with a focus on hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
* Reassemble components after repair or overhaul, ensuring compliance with specifications.
* Execute 'Reduce to Produce' activities to support component recovery and cost efficiency.
* Maintain and report operational data daily, weekly, and monthly as required.
* Manage the calibration process for tools and equipment in accordance with quality standards.
* Apply strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot mechanical failures and suggest improvements.
* Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards across all activities.
Qualifications And Experience
* Proven hands-on experience with hydraulic systems and components.
* Familiarity with pneumatic systems and testing protocols.
* Solid understanding of mechanical repairs, material selection, and calibration processes.
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
* Experience in a regulated industry is preferred.
