Construction Associate - Bristol - Non-Contentious - 2+ PQE
Location: Bristol Office (Hybrid & Flexible Working)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time (35 hours per week)
Salary: £55,000 to £80,000
A leading law firm is seeking an Associate to join its non-contentious Construction team in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a collaborative and inclusive environment, advising a diverse client base across a broad range of construction matters.
The Role
This role involves advising on non-contentious construction law, working both independently and as part of a wider team. Key responsibilities include:
* Advising on construction legislation and practice
* Drafting and negotiating JCT and NEC contracts, including bespoke amendments
* Preparing professional consultant appointments
* Drafting collateral warranties, bonds, and guarantees
* Applying contract law and understanding dispute resolution processes
* Supporting clean and renewable energy projects (desirable)
* Collaborating with colleagues across multiple offices
* Delivering exceptional client service and managing multiple deadlines
Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a construction lawyer with:
* Demonstrable experience in non-contentious construction law
* Strong drafting and negotiation skills
* Commercial awareness and client-focused mindset
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team
* Organised approach and ability to work at pace
* Interest in business development and client relationship building
