Title: Gas Assessor
Reports to: Head of Apprenticeships
Salary: Up to £40,000
Location: Liverpool
Purpose of the Role
The Gas Assessor will manage a caseload of apprentices from recruitment through to successful, timely completion of their programmes. You will build strong relationships with both employers and apprentices, ensuring learners are fully supported throughout their journey. Working closely with Apprenticeship Tutors, you will carry out workplace reviews and assessments, provide guidance, and ensure that apprentices achieve all elements of their programme.
Principal Duties
* Manage a caseload of Gas Apprentices, supporting them from enrolment to completion.
* Carry out learner reviews and workplace assessments in line with apprenticeship standards.
* Provide pastoral support, information, advice, and guidance to learners.
* Work closely with curriculum teams to track attendance, progress, and timely achievement of standards.
* Liaise effectively with employers and workplace supervisors to support learner development.
* Promote Hybrid Higher Apprenticeships to employers and assist in securing learner placements.
* Monitor and ensure health and safety compliance in workplaces and training centres, including risk assessments and accident reporting.
* Support delivery of the full apprenticeship journey, including Functional Skills.
* Track and review learner progress against Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), maintaining accurate monitoring documentation.
* Complete all learner paperwork and administrative tasks to funding and audit requirements.
* Contribute to the development and effective functioning of the curriculum team.
* Support compliance with funding body requirements to maximise income and performance.
* Encourage and assist learners in developing practical skills in workshop sessions.
* Undertake additional duties such as programme leadership, IQA, and other responsibilities as required.
Person Specification
Education / Training
* Strong general education.
* Minimum Level 2 IT qualification.
Experience (Essential)
* Level 2/3 Gas qualification.
* Gas Safe registration.
* Assessor qualification (or willingness to work towards).
* Strong industry experience in the Gas sector.
Experience (Desirable)
* Plumbing knowledge and/or qualifications.
Skills / Aptitudes
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Effective team-working skills.
* Good IT skills, including use of learner record systems.
* Ability to adapt quickly to new processes and changes
