An opportunity has arisen for an HCA to join the Dorset Bladder & Bowel continence service. The successful person needs an enthusiasm for continence and an interest in assisting patients with bladder & bowel issues and supporting the patient in managing their incontinence. Based in Weymouth, Portland & Dorchester locality, linking with local district nurse team and other health professionals within the community.
Responsibilities
* Work under the supervision of clinicians within the team, occasionally autonomously.
* Have a full driver’s licence and own car to visit patients in their homes and other community settings.
* Work mainly remotely; base at the continence team at Forston Clinic near Dorchester.
* Carry out continence assessments for housebound patients via telephone consultation, patients own home, or a care home facility.
* Provide conservative lifestyle advice and containment products and devices.
* Opportunity to carry out bladder scans and sheath fittings with full training.
Qualifications
* Enthusiasm for continence and interest in bladder & bowel issues.
* Full driver’s licence and own car.
* Ability to work autonomously within a remote setup.
