Behaviour Mentor – Secondary School (Chorlton)

A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Chorlton is seeking a calm, resilient, and committed Behaviour Mentor to join their pastoral support team from September 2025.
This rewarding role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and improve their behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work 1:1 or with small groups to support students with behaviour or social/emotional needs
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model
* Implement behaviour strategies and interventions under the guidance of the pastoral team
* Monitor student progress and contribute to behaviour support plans
* Liaise with teachers, support staff, and parents/carers to ensure joined-up support
* Support a safe and respectful learning environment across the school day
Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) needs
* Confident, empathetic, and able to manage challenging situations calmly
* Strong communication and de-escalation skills
* A team player who’s committed to making a positive impact
* Background in youth work, coaching, mentoring, or pastoral care is advantageous

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
