General Mate
Location: Thatcham, Berkshire
Salary: A GBP 16.369 : A GBP 32.34 per hour
Our client is seeking a reliable and hard:working General Mate to assist skilled tradespeople and site teams with day:to:day operations.
This is a hands:on role involving manual labour, material handling, and general site duties.
The ideal candidate will be physically fit, safety:conscious, and willing to work as part of a team in a fast:paced environment.
The Role
* Assist tradespeople with basic tasks across the site (e.g. lifting, carrying, holding tools)
* Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
* Keep work areas clean, tidy, and hazard:free.
* Move materials and supplies to required locations.
* Help set up and take down temporary structures and equipment.
* Follow instructions from supervisors and team leaders.
* Adhere to all site health and safety regulations.
* Perform other general duties as required to support the smooth running of the site.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential:
* Good physical fitness and stamina.
* Positive attitude and willingness to work hard.
* Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
* Basic awareness of site safety rules.
* Punctual, dependable, and respectful of site procedures.
Desirable:
* Previous experience in a general labour or construction role.
* Valid CSCS card (or willingness to obtain).
* Driving licence (preferred but not essential).
* Interest in learning a trade or developing further in construction
