Band 8a Senior BI Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Intelligence Developer to lead innovative, data‑driven solutions within a large NHS organisation. The role will be offered as a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, starting from the successful candidate's start date.
Main Responsibilities
* Provide technical leadership across the Trust’s BI environment, leading the development of advanced reporting and visual analytics solutions using Qlik Sense, while also supporting SSRS, Power BI, Business Objects and SharePoint‑based solutions.
* Translate complex clinical, operational and corporate requirements into accessible dashboards, reports and digital tools that support informed decision‑making.
* Support the adoption of AI and data science approaches to enhance analytics, automate processes and generate deeper insights from Trust data.
* Champion data quality, governance and best practice, mentoring BI developers and promoting innovation across the team to improve performance and patient care.
* Serve as the senior representative of the Trust’s reporting workstream for Qlik View and Qlik Sense, developing reporting tools and dashboards to enable clinicians and senior management to understand performance.
* Manage line staff and support professional development of Qlik developers.
Experience and Knowledge
* Advanced experience of MS SQL Server and Qlik Sense.
* Advanced knowledge of maintaining Qlik Sense (or any BI tool) server.
* Expert knowledge and understanding of Health Service data flows, definitions, information requirements.

Salary
£63,665 to £70,887 a year (inclusive).
