Introduction
Come and join Thornford Park as a Part-Time Wellbeing and Welfare Champion, where you will be a friendly face to staff as you instil and maintain a positive working culture that has a strong emphasis on improving employees' wellbeing.
You will work 22.5 hours a week at Thornford Park in Thatcham, responsible for identifying the evolving needs of staff, providing resources, planning events, and being a point of contact for those who may need further wellbeing assistance.
Liaising with the Regional Wellbeing Lead, you will deliver communications, initiatives, and regular themed wellbeing events, managing an allocated budget and stock.
As a Wellbeing and Welfare Champion, you will liaise with internal and external stakeholders and support staff with communications.
A range of training opportunities are available to support your career growth and aspirations.
Responsibilities include:
* Printing and displaying publicity posters
* Being the point of contact for colleagues interested in health & wellbeing activities
* Adding health and wellbeing topics to team meetings
* Maintaining a resource of health and wellbeing information
* Promoting health campaigns (e.g., Stoptober, World Mental Health Day)
* Encouraging participation in health challenges
* Signposting colleagues to relevant services
* Raising or escalating concerns appropriately
* Supporting and checking in with new starters regarding wellbeing
Qualifications and skills:
* Interest in health and wellbeing
* Understanding of healthy lifestyles and willingness to undertake relevant training
* Ability to maintain records
* Experience in a similar role or environment
Workplace details:
You will work at Thornford Park, a facility supporting recovery and rehabilitation for males with mental health and complex care needs, including those with histories of offending or previous placement failures.
