Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and driven General Manager to lead a large-scale, 24/7 operation within a fast-paced environment. With responsibility for Operations and Transport managing a Team of 500+ is a high-impact role requiring a natural leader who can navigate complexity, drive change, and deliver operational excellence. This is not a 'sit behind the desk' role - we're looking for someone who is visible, engaged, and thrives on being at the heart of the operation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, manage, and develop a team of 500+ across a 24/7 operation
* Drive significant operational change, embedding structure, discipline, and consistency
* Implement robust processes to improve productivity, efficiency, and throughput
* Increase operational capacity and volume through continuous improvement initiatives
* Ensure high standards of health & safety, compliance, and operational performance
* Build a strong leadership culture across all levels of the operation
* Take full ownership of site performance, including KPIs, cost control, and service delivery
Key Skills/Experience:
* Proven experience operating at General Manager level within large, complex operations
* Strong background in managing large, manual 24/7 operation
* Demonstrable success in leading and delivering significant operational change
* A hands-on, visible leadership style with the ability to engage and influence at all levels
* Strong process-driven mindset with a track record of implementing improvements
* Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
* Excellent people leadership skills with the ability to build and develop high-performing teams
