Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to lead and support the development of innovative and effective solutions within the Power System Engineering functions of Network Development. The successful candidate will proactively engage with stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into accessible language, and take ownership of issues to drive initiatives forward. Strong expertise in Power System Modelling using DigSilent PowerFactory is essential.
This role involves the design of control systems for HVDC and FACTS devices, as well as wind farm applications, and the delivery of essential power system studies, including load flow, fault level, and other power system analyses to support planning and operational needs. The role also includes overseeing and mentoring team members undertaking power system studies, ensuring high‑quality outputs through effective collaboration, constructive feedback, and technical guidance.
The candidate will be responsible for scoping, undertaking, and interpreting Power System analysis to facilitate transmission network investment planning across multiple timescales. By collaborating across various engineering functions, the individual will contribute to the development of comprehensive network solutions that align with regulatory requirements and consumer interests. Ultimately, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the electricity transmission system while supporting the transition to a sustainable energy future.
As this role requires specialist knowledge and expertise in DIgSILENT PowerFactory within Network Design, we encourage applications from candidates with Transmission Planning experience using power system simulation tools, preferably DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
