The Cellar Person is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and appropriate stocking of our cellar and bar areas. Including maintaining inventory control and readiness for service. Additionally, completing the presentation and set up of Front of House areas as needed, to ensure a seamless guest experience.
The role will be offered based on a Fixed term contract (until May 2026), at 37.5 hours per week (including evenings and weekends)
Your main responsibilities will be:
* To ensure the presentation and efficient running and stocking of the cellar and bar areas and to assist with the preparation of other Front of House areas as required in readiness for every performance / event.
* To ensure the cleanliness and proper maintenance of the Mayflower bars and cellar equipment.
* To follow the established stock control procedures and maintain good stock rotation.
* To ensure that health and safety, licensing and hygiene regulations are followed at all times.
* To ensure correct cellar procedures and maintenance is adhered to (i.e. temperatures, line cleaning, glass washers, ice machine etc).
* To liaise with suppliers and contractors as needed to place orders and to request technical assistance
* To receive and store large deliveries on a daily basis.
* Assist with the set-up of meeting rooms and event spaces.
Our ideal applicant will have:
Essential qualities:
* Prior experience with managing stock in a commercial setting, including overseeing stock rotation and the handling of regular large and heavy deliveries
* Experience in following detailed operational requests such as room layout plans and event set ups.
* Experience in the completing administrative tasks using various technologies such as computers, radios and electronic till systems.
* Experience in customer facing roles, with the ability to provide exemplary customer service both in person and via the phone.
* Experience using electronic till systems to accurately record stock levels and monitor wastage
* Experience in the completion of time sensitive tasks.
Desirable qualities:
* Previous bar work experience.
* Knowledge of Challenge 25 and food allergens
