We have a fantastic opportunity for an IT Support Engineer to join us at our unique Head Office in Renfrew, which includes our state-of-the-art gym with weekly circuit training, a personal trainer and yoga classes as well as the Beeks Bar or weekly masseuse to help you unwind!
About the Role
The IT Support Engineer will be part of a fast-paced System Engineering team, providing first-line support to internal users both in person and via the helpdesk. This role offers excellent opportunities for learning and professional growth within the team. 
Key Responsibilities
 * Primary management of the internal help desk queue, escalating and collaborating where appropriate and ensuring a high level of communication and interaction with the reporter.
 * Provisioning new users, including laptop and account setup, while supporting the onboarding process and ensuring adequate stock for future hires.
 * Provide first line technical support to internal users in person and via the support desk portal, which may involve managing account problems, fixing hardware faults and resolving issues on Windows and Linux devices.
 * Involvement in system maintenance and patching.
 * Monitoring the health of systems and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
 * Create and maintain detailed documentation of systems, configurations, and processes.
 * Assisting in server and software installation and configuration.
Essential Skills
 * Proficient in Microsoft 365.
 * Working knowledge of Windows Administration.
 * Solid understanding of computer operating systems, hardware, and software.
 * Basic knowledge of Linux shell commands.
 * Ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical users.
 * Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
 * Strong willingness and ability to learn on the job.
Desirable Skills
 * Scripting experience using Bash or Python.
 * Experience with laptop onboarding processes (e.g., Windows Autopilot).
 * Exposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware or KVM.
 * Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
 * Understanding of source control systems, particularly Git.
 * Solid understanding of networking concepts.
Required Experience/Qualifications 
Computer-related qualifications or industry-recognised certifications, or a minimum of one year’s hands-on experience.
