Warehouse Manager We are seeking a proactive and experienced Warehouse Manager to lead our small but vital team of 9, overseeing both our printing and workwear dispatch operations in our Derby warehouse. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods, maintaining high standards of accuracy, and fostering a positive and productive working environment. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong leadership skills and a keen eye for detail. Key Responsibilities: Team Leadership and Management: Provide clear direction, coaching, and support to a team of 9 warehouse operatives across both printing and workwear dispatch. Manage team performance, including setting objectives, conducting appraisals, and identifying training needs. Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork. Manage team rotas and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet operational demands. Address any employee relations issues in a timely and professional manner. Operational Efficiency: Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching of both printed materials and workwear. Implement and maintain efficient warehouse processes and workflows to optimize productivity and minimize errors. Ensure accurate inventory management through regular stock checks and adherence to company procedures. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse operations and implement improvements as needed. Liaise with other departments, such as production and customer service, to ensure seamless order fulfillment. Quality and Accuracy: Maintain high standards of quality control for all outgoing goods, ensuring accuracy in both printing and workwear dispatch. Implement and enforce procedures to minimize damage and loss of stock. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or errors in a timely manner. Health and Safety: Ensure the warehouse operates in a safe manner, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular risk assessments and implement necessary safety measures. Promote a culture of safety awareness within the team. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Stay up-to-date with best practices in warehouse management. Contribute to the development and implementation of new systems and technologies. Skills and Experience: Proven experience in a warehouse management or supervisory role, ideally within a similar environment (e.g., printing, textiles, light manufacturing, or dispatch-focused operations). Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a small team. Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy. Good understanding of warehouse management principles and best practices. Experience with inventory management systems and processes. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members and other departments. A proactive and problem-solving approach. Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse environment. Forklift truck license (desirable but not essential). Basic IT literacy.
