Description
We are seeking a reliable and skilled HGV Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while delivering goods to various locations. This role requires the ability to operate a curtain sider lorry and manage the transportation of materials with professionalism and care.
Some lifting required.
Hours usually 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday
This is initially to cover till September 2025.
Duties
1. Drive a lorry to transport goods to designated locations in a timely manner.
2. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe working condition.
3. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of loads for safe transport.
4. Maintain accurate delivery records, including logs of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents that occur during transit.
5. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies regarding safety and compliance.
6. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Requirements
7. Valid commercial driving licence (C) with up to 3 points.
8. Experience as a delivery driver is preferred.
9. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial driving.
10. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy items and securing loads.
11. Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
12. Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
