Avantor is seeking an experienced and motivated Supply Chain Service Lead to join our team in Cambridge, UK. In this role, you will take ownership of inventory operations, procurement, reporting, and team leadership. Your responsibilities will include managing stock replenishment, overseeing offsite storage, supporting service delivery, and driving continuous improvement through data analysis and collaboration.
You'll be part of our Lab and Production Services (LPS) department, supporting global pharmaceutical operations. You will lead the Stores function at the Ann McLaren Building (AMB), provide cross-site support at DISC, and collaborate with stakeholders across logistics, procurement, and science teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and support daily operations, including line management, workload coordination, and service delivery.
2. Provide operational cover and leadership across stores as needed, ensuring business continuity.
3. Manage procurement activities, including raising POs, tracking spend, and supporting invoice resolution.
4. Oversee offsite storage, ensuring accurate stock levels, replenishment, and compliance.
5. Analyze reports and metrics to identify improvement opportunities and lead innovation projects.
6. Maintain documentation for compliance and training, and lead audits, inspections, and GEMBA walks.
7. Act as a key point of contact for store-related queries and escalate complex issues as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent secondary school qualification.
* Broad experience in supply chain, logistics, or inventory management, preferably in a scientific environment.
* Experience in team leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
* Strong understanding of procurement systems, stock control, and compliance.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation.
* Desirable: Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, Power BI, and health & safety protocols.
