Overview
Back of House Operations Manager role at DHL Supply Chain. Location: Gatwick. This role is based at an airport and requires a background in aviation. Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time). Salary: £48,000 - £49,000. Grade: K. Shift patterns: Monday to Friday. Interviews are provisionally scheduled for the week commencing 18 August 2025. Responsibilities
* Accountable for the day to day management, decision making and delivery of the easyJet operation from Gatwick Airport
* Escalation to the DHL Senior Team and easyJet and GAL for safety critical events and trends on operational performance / customer experience.
* Provide support to the Senior BOH Manager to manage the BOH team including Ramp Colleagues, TCOs and SOC
* Support in the day to day management of the APMs which are most senior on shift person managing the whole DHL operation at LGW
* Provide holiday cover for the Senior and creates a continuous a succession line from running shift to first step in running a department
* Managing day to day operational activities to fulfil customer requirements for OTP
* Adherence to compliance both internal and external regulatory bodies
* Maintain and promote compliance to all CAA requirements - Flight Files
* Control and monitor IT tools such as AMS, Mobilise
* Monitor agreed resource level across site in line with budgets, and productivity targets
* Manage and enhance performance management
* Engage with Union to facilitate collaboration between management and colleagues throughout the operation to deliver the goals
* Ensure effective communication processes are established for both internal and external customers
* Review, develop and maintain/improve operational processes in line with GHM guidelines
* Record and proactively manage KPI's to drive continuous improvement in the service level and cost performance to AWC
* Liaise with Safety team on safety audits and support corrective and preventive actions
* Work towards minimising impact on delays due to operational process error
* Support overseeing the contract budget/overtime control
* Working with the customers to ensure that the budget is maintained
* Knowledge sharing, develop internal network with finance teams
* Key lead on internal CI projects within department
Qualifications
* Previous experience in aviation
* Previous P&L accountability
* IT literate- particularly capable to input, manipulate and analyse Excel/Power Bi Data
* Ability to manage teams through on shift managers
* Hold a valid UK driving license (essential)
* Can work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays
* Are confident dealing with challenging situations
* Work well within a team and have excellent communication skills
* Are willing to attend a medical appointment
