A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Preston is seeking a committed and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support teaching and learning across a range of subjects for a short-term, full-time contract starting in January 2026.
About the Role:
As a HLTA, you’ll play a key role in supporting students’ progress, working closely with teaching staff to deliver small group interventions, cover lessons when required, and contribute to the overall learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a supportive school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver planned learning activities to small groups or whole classes
* Support pupils with varying needs to access the curriculum
* Assist in the planning and assessment of learning activities
* Provide feedback to teachers and contribute to pupil progress tracking
* Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
What We’re Looking For:
* HLTA status or equivalent experience
* Previous experience working in a secondary school setting
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
* A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning
