We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in Darlington. As a Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting elderly individuals and adults with various needs in their own homes, ensuring they maintain their independence and quality of life.
1. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
2. Assist with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
3. Help with mobility around the home, including safe transferring techniques
4. Oversee medication administration and provide basic medical support as required
5. Perform light housekeeping duties, including cleaning and tidying
6. Prepare and cook nutritious meals according to dietary requirements
7. Run errands, such as food shopping or collecting prescriptions
8. Maintain accurate records
9. Promote clients' independence and dignity at all times
Qualifications
10. Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine desire to help others
11. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
12. Physical stamina to assist with mobility and personal care tasks
13. Patience and understanding when working with vulnerable individuals
14. Basic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate record-keeping
15. Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends
16. Valid UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes
17. Right to work in the UK
18. Willingness to undergo a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
19. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
20. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
