Role
The main duties and responsibilities of the job are to conduct research under the supervision of senior colleagues. Specifically, this will involve:
1. Undertaking and overseeing participant recruitment and data collection
2. Managing databases
3. Undertaking qualitative semi-structured interviews and analysis
4. Undertaking structured interviews and data entry
5. Ensuring study processes and protocols are followed within sites
6. Co-ordinate study meetings
7. Prepare interim and final reports
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
The main qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience essential to this post are:
8. A PhD in a social science or mental health subject or equivalent experience
9. Knowledge of both trial methodologies and qualitative research
10. Knowledge of the needs of mental health carers and/or older people
11. Highly developed communication skills
12. Ability to write up research work for publication
13. Experience of working with mental health carers and/or older people
14. Experience of working on a randomised controlled trial or similar quasi-experimental study in the NHS
15. Attention to detail and commitment to high quality
