Peaple Talent have partnered with a brilliant client in London looking to recruit an Economic Capital Analyst who will also have a focus on Portfolio Risk.

You’ll be at the forefront of analysing key risk areas, such as residual values, service and maintenance costs, insurance pricing, and broader lease pricing strategies.

A core focus of this role is ensuring the business meets its Minimum Capital Requirement and maintains appropriate capital buffers.

Additionally, you’ll be responsible for interpreting complex risk data and turning it into practical insights.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the end-to-end delivery of Economic Capital activities, managing data inputs, assumptions, model updates, forecasting, and coordination with external partners. All while ensuring timelines align with agreed governance frameworks.
* Represent our client in external engagements, collaborating with industry experts, regulatory bodies, and peers to ensure our client’s risk approach remains aligned with best practices and industry standards.
* Apply deep knowledge of our client’s business model to guide how Economic Capital is used to assess and manage a broad range of risks, including residual value, insurance, treasure, credit, operational, and climate-related exposures.
* Build strong, lasting relationships with stakeholders in the team and across other teams.
* Stay well-informed of industry benchmarks, capital modelling practices, and regulatory frameworks to continuously challenge and enhance our client’s approach to economic capital management.
* Support ongoing Asset Risk initiatives and strategic projects.
* Interpret complex model outputs and translate them into actionable business insights, helping leadership understand the financial impact of strategic decisions.
* Share expertise with colleagues, offering guidance on both the theory and practical application of Economic Capital and Portfolio Risk.
* Recommend and implement improvements across data processes, modelling techniques, and risk communication.
* Bring together key stakeholders to drive development and understanding of portfolio risk.
* Act as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and third-party providers, ensuring that updates to models and data reflect both technical accuracy and business intent.
* Oversee the operational aspects of Portfolio Risk delivery, ensuring that outputs are clearly communicated.

Key Experience Required:

* Skilled in working with complex datasets, spotting key trends and extracting actionable insights.
* Proficient in key modelling and programming tools such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
* Strong foundation in mathematical disciplines, including statistics and probability, with the ability to apply these to real-world problems.
* Significant experience assessing various types of risk, including market, credit, and operational.
* Highly attentive to detail when developing or reviewing models and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
* Solid understanding of financial regulatory environments and compliance standards, with the ability to navigate them effectively.
* Capable of grasping both commercial objectives and theoretical frameworks to inform modelling decisions.
* Demonstrated expertise in building, refining, and applying capital models to quantify and manage risk exposure.
* Proven ability to collaborate with third-party providers to support the development of Economic Capital Models and integrate broader industry perspectives.

The Package:

* Generous pension contribution, up to 15%.
* 28 days annual leave.
* Private Medical Insurance.
* Cycle to work scheme.
* Life Assurance.
* Variety of optional benefits, such as dental, critical illness, health screenings, gym discounts etc.
