External Examiner for Enhanced and Specialist Practice modules
Oxford Brookes University is seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified academic as an external examiner for the following programmes:
* PG Cert in Cardiorespiratory Practice
* PG Cert in Emergency Care
* PG Cert in Acute Care of the Older Person with Frailty
* MSc in Enhanced Clinical Practice
The awards include the following level 7 modules:
* Enhanced Patient Assessment & Management
* Cardiac and Respiratory Care
* Adult Emergency Care
* Developing Emergency Care
* Children’s Emergency Care
* Care of the older person with frailty
* Enhancing Professional Practice
* Professional Nurse Advocate/ Advocacy and Education for Quality Improvement in Practice
The successful applicant would be appointed to start on 1st December 2025 for a term of four years. The post requires external moderation of assessments and feedback, an annual monitoring report, and attendance at the relevant PG Examination Boards.
External Examiners may also be required to provide comments on proposed modifications to modules and the development of new modules, within their area of expertise. Whilst previous experience as an External Examiner is desirable, consideration would be given to those seeking their first appointment.
