We are recruiting a motivated, organised, and enthusiastic Band 7 Physiotherapist to join our vibrant and fast‑paced primary healthcare team at Pirbright Medical Centre.
The post is 37.5 hours a week. Part‑time candidates will be considered on a job‑share basis to cover full‑time hours. The role requires a good communicator, readiness to undertake additional training, and a full clean driving licence or the ability to travel.
The post holder will act as a team lead, managing staff, providing highly skilled clinical expertise in musculoskeletal dysfunction, and advising patients, other physiotherapists, healthcare professionals and general practitioners. The position will involve working closely with the Officer in Command (OC).
Main responsibilities
* Managing a clinical caseload of patients in the PCRF, including those with musculoskeletal injuries.
* Providing supervision, teaching and support for all grades within the PCRF.
* Ensuring that Band 6 Physiotherapists and Band 5 Exercise Rehabilitation Instructors manage clinical caseloads appropriately within the same guidelines.
* Performing highly skilled physiotherapeutic assessment of patients referred to the PCRF, including complex presentations with acute or chronic physical and psychological conditions, and using clinical reasoning to give an accurate diagnosis.
* Assessing, developing and implementing physiotherapy treatment plans for a military specialist caseload, tailoring interventions to individual needs based on evidence‑based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
* Communicating effectively with patients to secure informed consent, ensure understanding of their conditions and maximise rehabilitation potential, using face‑to‑face, video or telephone consultations as required.
* Liaising closely with consultants in Rheumatology, Rehabilitation, Sport & Exercise Medicine, Orthopaedics and Radiology regarding the management of highly complex patients, and providing rehabilitation‑specific opinion to enable informed choice against known MOD care pathway options.

Person Specification
Registration and Memberships
* State registered physiotherapist (HCPC) and member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (MCSP)
* Provide membership registration numbers for both HCPC and MCSP; must be registered prior to application.
Experience
* Experience as a clinical musculoskeletal physiotherapist at a minimum of band 6 (or equivalent) in the musculoskeletal injury specialism, including sports injuries and orthopaedics.
* Healthcare governance training or equivalent experience.
* Diagnostic ultrasound (US) or willingness to undertake.
* Injection therapy or willingness to undertake.
Qualifications
* Degree in physiotherapy plus additional specialist training or experience to master's level or equivalent.
* MSc in physiotherapy or working towards an MSc.
Other requirements
* Full clean driving licence or the ability to travel.
* Security check (level: security check).
* Hepatitis B serology testing; vaccination alone is not sufficient.
* Pay range: £47,810 to £54,710 a year (pro‑rata for part‑time). Pension scheme available.
