Job Description
We are looking for a full-time Warehouse Assistant / Forklift Driver to add to our clients existing team in Walsall. Hours are: 45 hours per week, Monday-Friday: 7am-4pm with half an hour lunch break. This is an opportunity to join a friendly, family orientated but professional hygiene company delivering excellence in products and services to their clients. Working in a busy but friendly warehouse offering support on an accurate and timely basis and reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, You will need a Forklift Counterbalance licence a reach licence would be an advantage but not essential
In addition, PLEASE NOTE you will need a drivers licence as on the rare occasion you may be required to offer driver cover for sickness and holidays delivering products and carrying out waste collections services to our clients. The ideal candidate will, have previous experience in a similar role, be an excellent communicator, confident in completing the day-to-day tasks of a busy warehouse and working with colleagues across all levels and will also have a good level of computer literacy to include Microsoft Office programs.
The Role:
•Stock counts and picking orders, checking off goods, putting stock in relevant bays and carrying out stock takes
•Loading/unloading of commercial vehicles with FLT
•Mixing of chemicals, responsibility of dust mats in and out including responsibility of mat folders
•Responsibility of ensuring the department meets all operational standards including productivity, quality control, meeting deadlines, identifying and resolving problems and identifying purchase system improvements.
•Some computer work including updating stock, printing labels, printing delivery notes & invoices
•Other general warehouse duties
•Covering for driver sickness and holidays, please be aware this will involve deliveries of goods and also collecting clinical waste.
•Must be flexible as when covering for drivers working hours may change and can vary between 4am-4pm dependent upon customer requirements
The ideal candidate must possess the following skills and attributes:
•Sound understanding of stock systems with excellent communication skills
•Qualified to operate a forklift / Reach truck
•Full clean driving licence (Maximum 3 points will be considered)
•Excellent inter-personal skills
•Computer Literate, with the ability to input, retrieve and analyse data
•Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
•Be an excellent timekeeper
•Must be physically fit and strong as this is a manual job which includes continuous lifting, bending, stretching and carrying
•Must be flexible as hours working hours can vary when covering for drivers
•Be friendly and a team player
•Must be experienced in a similar role
This role will be ongoing temp to perm for the right candidate
