The cellular pathology department is looking for a friendly team member to help them with their cellular pathology service.
This role can involve working in a small team or working alone.
Working alongside the cancer services and information, preparing the work required to enable to Pathologists to attend the specialty MDT’s (Multi-Disciplinary Team) meetings.
Main duties of the job
Assist in the provision of efficient, effective and comprehensive services in the cellular pathology department.
This is to be of the highest quality possible ensuring patients’ needs are of paramount importance
Read the patients history written on agenda, and deciphering the laboratory reports/results on the Pathology computer, make the decision of which reports and laboratory slides the consultants needs for the MDT meeting.
Identify and print relevant reports using the in house Pathology computer system on these cases for these meetings. This can occur daily. [A number of MDTs can occur on any day].
Digital Pathology MDT preparation – collating case reports and images into MDT folders
Retrievals for MDT meetings: utilise the digital computer system to create folders and files to enable to Pathologists to review cases for MDT meetings.

Essential criteria
1. GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge
Essential criteria
2. Good written and verbal communication skills
3. Ability to work as part of a team.
4. Computer keyboard skills. ensuring accurate recording of specimens
5. Ability to use practical skills with manual dexterity.
6. Knowledge of pathology terminology for understanding of histopathology reports.
Desirable criteria
7. Methodical approach to tasks with attention to detail.
8. Ability to file in alphabetic and numerical order.
Experience

9. Previous experience of data input using a computer.
