Immediate Start - Children's Social Worker | Suffolk Council
Location: Ipswich / Bury St Edmunds (Hybrid Working)
Pay: £300 per day
Hours: 37 hours per week, 4‑day condensed week available
Contract: 3‑month with possible extension
Suffolk Council is seeking an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join the Social Care Team supporting Child in Need, Looked After Children, Child Assessment, and Support & Prevention services.
Responsibilities
* Manage a complex caseload of children and families
* Undertake Child in Need, Child Protection, and Looked After Children work
* Complete assessments of risk and need
* Lead Section 47 investigations and safeguarding interventions
* Develop and implement care and support plans
* Work closely with schools, health professionals, police, and partner agencies
* Produce high‑quality assessments, reports, and court documentation
* Contribute to reflective practice and team development
Qualifications & Requirements
* Qualified Social Worker
* Social Work England registration
* Recent Children’s Social Care experience within a local authority
* Strong safeguarding and assessment experience
* Ability to manage complex caseloads effectively
* Experience within CIN, CP, LAC, Assessment or Support & Prevention teams
