The Chapeltown Family Surgery in Leeds seeks a capable Practice Manager to lead non-clinical operations for a growing community-focused practice.
Job Summary

You will be part of a team based in a richly diverse community, addressing inequalities, with a focus on continuous improvement. A position has become free due to our Practice Manager relocating; the right candidate will demonstrate well-developed managerial skills and a track record of improving outcomes.
Responsibilities
The Practice Manager is responsible for all non-clinical aspects of Chapeltown Family Surgery. Duties include:
* Practice Finance — develop new income streams, minimise expenditure where possible without compromising quality, manage financial elements of the practice, liaise with the accountant, oversee accounts, present year-end figures, brief Partners on financial matters (including forecasting), manage partner drawings, PAYE and pensions for staff, and procure GP practice equipment, supplies and services within budget.
* Practice Operations — review and analyse practices, work with sub-teams to improve practices, maintain a patient-focused approach with commercial awareness, manage premises including health and safety, risk assessments and mandatory training, market the practice, support the Patient Participation Group, manage all complaints, oversee Primary Care Funding and Contracts, evaluate regulatory changes, tender for new services, advise Partners on contractual arrangements, manage mergers and collaborations, and ensure revenue targets (QOF, IIF, Enhanced services).
* Strategy and Practice Development — develop business plans, lead business expansion and projects, achieve long-term strategic objectives, implement a resilience plan, review and update practice policies, lead change and continuous improvement, and monitor performance against targets.
* Human Resources — recruit and retain staff, implement appraisals and succession planning, resolve disciplinary and grievance issues, maintain HR compliance, ensure appropriate training, establish Partner accountability, represent the practice in internal and external meetings, and act as primary contact for NHS bodies, ICB, community services, suppliers and external stakeholders.

Pay £35,000 to £50,000 per year (Depends on Experience)

Person Specification
Qualifications (Essential) — Degree or equivalent qualification; evidence of continuing personal development. (Desirable) — Postgraduate management qualification.

* Full UK driving licence
Experience (Essential) — minimum 3 years senior management experience; strategic and cross-organisation work; business and service planning, managing change; resource management; accounting procedures including budgeting and cash flow forecasting; performance management and staff development; project delivery; workforce planning; chairing meetings; broad NHS experience. (Desirable) — senior management experience within a Health Service environment; governance; project management; organisation development; health and safety experience.
