Warehouse Supervisor
Location: Saffron Walden
Salary: £35,000 - £42,000 (Depending on experience)
Term: Permanent
Hours: Monday - Friday.
We're looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join a growing business in Saffron Walden. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on whilst also taking responsibility for improving processes, organising workflows and helping shape the future of a warehouse operation.
This isn't a role for someone who simply wants to maintain the status quo. We're looking for somebody who can bring ideas, identify improvements and help create an efficient, well-organised warehouse environment.
You'll oversee all day-to-day warehouse activities, including goods in, stock control, storage, inventory management and dispatch, whilst working closely with the wider business to ensure materials and products are where they need to be, when they need to be there.
Key Responsibilities
Supervising the day-to-day running of the warehouse
Managing all goods in and goods out activities
Ensuring stock is accurately checked, recorded and stored
Maintaining inventory accuracy and carrying out regular stock checks
Developing and improving warehouse systems, processes and procedures
Organising warehouse layouts to maximise efficiency and space utilisation
Using computerised systems to manage stock and warehouse records
Liaising with suppliers, couriers and internal departments
Monitoring health and safety standards throughout the warehouse
Identifying opportunities to improve productivity and workflow
Supporting future growth plans and helping establish best practice across the operation
Leading by example with a hands-on approach to daily warehouse activities
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a Warehouse Supervisor, Warehouse Team Leader or similar role
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, stock control and inventory management
Experience implementing or improving warehouse processes and procedures
Good IT skills and confidence using warehouse, stock management or ERP systems
Ability to work independently and take ownership of your area
Practical problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Confident communicator who can make suggestions and drive improvements whilst working collaboratively with colleagues
Counterbalance forklift licence is essential
Comfortable working with hight racking
