Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Residential Team Leader to oversee the care and support of children within our residential setting. This role is pivotal in ensuring that each child's individual needs are met through effective care plans and a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for working with children, and the ability to communicate effectively with both children and staff.
Duties
* Lead and manage a team of support staff in providing high-quality care to children in a residential setting.
* Develop, implement, and monitor individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
* Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children, promoting their emotional and social development.
* Ensure effective communication with children, families, and external agencies regarding care plans and progress.
* Conduct regular team meetings to discuss strategies, challenges, and successes in child care.
* Maintain accurate records of children's progress and any incidents that occur within the residential setting.
* Drive children to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety at all times.
* Provide training and support to new staff members, ensuring they understand their roles within the team.
Experience
* Proven experience working with children in a residential or childcare setting is essential.
* A valid driving licence is required for transporting children as needed.
* Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
* Strong communication skills are necessary for engaging with children, families, and colleagues effectively.
* Proficiency in IT is advantageous for maintaining records and documentation related to children's care.
