Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various welding techniques, particularly MIG welding, along with the ability to work with structural steel and fabrication processes. This role requires mechanical knowledge and proficiency in using hand and power tools to assemble components accurately and efficiently.
Duties
* Perform MIG welding and other welding techniques as required for various projects.
* Fabricate structural steel according to specifications and drawings.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to assemble parts and structures.
* Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure adherence to safety standards and specifications.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working order.
* Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
* Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the fabrication process, applying basic math skills as necessary for measurements and calculations.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in welding, particularly MIG welding, is essential.
* Familiarity with local welding standards and practices is preferred.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
* Experience with fabrication processes, especially in structural steel.
* Proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools relevant to fabrication tasks.
* Basic mathematical skills for accurate measurements and calculations during assembly work.
