We’re looking for
a full-time, permanent Transport Supervisor to have responsibility of the day to day running of the site transport operation. You will coordinate and direct the team and implement the agreed strategy to fulfil the agreed contractual schedule of services performed accurately and efficiently in line with business principles and standards. Working Monday to Friday core hours (with some flexibility – this is logistics after all).

What you’ll do on a typical day:
1. You will be responsible for a team of small drivers and admin & Supervisory responsibility for all other replacement LGV Drivers when on shift.
2. You will manage relationships with internal and external customers, in order to achieve the Business Solutions strategic goals
3. You will have responsibility for adherence to the transport plan, ensuring all core fleet and hauler partners are loaded / dispatched in conjunction with the planning teams requirements.
4. Management of driver hours conforming to all RTR and WTD regulations
5. Ensure that all queries / requests are dealt with in a professional, courteous, and positive manner.
6. Ensure effective communication takes place within defined time limits with internal customers.
7. Timely reporting to all key stakeholders of any delivery performance issues.
8. Take control and responsibility of resolving open incidents and actively communicate updates with client’s management team.
9. To recognize changes in the contract where operational efficiencies can be made.
10. Establish innovative ways to improve and maintain customer experience.
11. To comply with formal operational procedures.
12. Ensure all equipment is maintained in line with company policy and in line with set vehicle service schedules
13. Communicate and monitor clear individual performance objectives and service standards.
14. Ensure effective communication of relevant information to employees or subcontractors – where appropriate
What you need to succeed at XPO:
15. You must have some previous management / supervisory experience
16. Ideally you will have an International CPC (preferable – work towards) however not essential
17. Intermediate level of competence in office admin packages (MS Office)
18. Previous experience of TMS / Tachograph management systems
19. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
20. Comprehensive Geographical Knowledge of UK
21. Knowledge of Driver Regulations
22. Experience of managing Health and Safety in the workplace
