JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARYHere at Latus we have ambitious growth and strategic plans to grow our business over the next year. With this in mind, we are looking to grow our teams and require like minded and professional people to support our journeyPerform duties in line with scope of practice and company audiology protocolsTo provide diagnostic assessment of hearing loss and rehabilitative treatments for hearing impaired adults.To provide direct access audiology servicesMedico-legal work, occupational health work or other suitable work may be required on occasions.Maintain compliance with AHCS registration & HCPC code where applicable.State registered Audiologist (AHCS)Membership of the British Academy of Audiology (preferred)ROLE & RESPONSIBILTIESAssessment hearing of adult patients referred from Primary Care,Hearing aid assessments for adults.Fitting of analogue and digital hearing aids for adultsReal ear measurements where appropriateHearing aid review and maintenance for adults.Hearing aid repairs and cleaningEarmould impressionsPlan aural rehabilitation programmes for hearing impaired adultsENT coverTympanometryEar syringing and microsuctionEnsure own personal and continual development.Manage assessment, fitting, follow up and aftercare services as appropriateWork alongside colleagues and senior personnel in a cooperative manner at all timesBe responsible for the provision of the service across various ICBs in line with national guidanceUtilise the patient management system to record all clinical activityEnsure that the service complies with both national and local systems of quality assurance and clinical audit.Stock accountabilityReview clinical and IT equipment required for service provision and report issues to IDC Head OfficeLiaise with Quality Assurance to deal with complaintsThe NHS service is provided from general practice. In some cases, Industrial Diagnostics has no control over the choice or design of the facility provided.Ensure the locations you work in are clean and fit for purposeEnsure locations remain fit for purpose reporting any non-conformities to head office.Carrying out patient domiciliary visits where necessaryCOMMUNICATIONCommunicate effectively and cooperate with and report to NHS Account TeamCommunicate and liaise with clinical staff and administrative staff at IDC Head Office and locally.Communicate effectively with patients/carers.Attend and participate in Training meetings.Report any clinical incidents/accidents to the responsible person at the site of work and the NHS Audiology Manager.Report all maintenance/IT problems in accordance with IDC Head Office Policy and local site policy.Liaising with GPs and other referral sourcesTRAININGBe responsible for own personal developmentUndertake mandatory trainingDevelop and take responsibility for own personal growth maintaining State Registration status via Continual Professional DevelopmentParticipate in training programs to update and extend professional knowledge and skillsPrioritize and recommend training courses.Regularly update knowledge of professional body and AHCS requirements for training and development of staff in Audiology.OTHERAny other suitable duties as deemed necessary by the business.Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities as required.Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.All responsibilities to be carried out in a manner commensurate with the confidentiality of the service and in accordance with the Service Level Agreements.At all times to present a professional and courteous image of the NHS/Occupational Health Service provider (Industrial Diagnostics Company) as well as maintaining constructive relationships with colleagues and clients.ESSENTIAL SKILLSExcellent verbal and written communication skills; oral communication must be particularly clearExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a range of staff with diverse needs and backgroundWell-developed dexterity and technical skillsGood IT skillsNeeds a flexible approach to working hours and environmentCurrent driving licence and own transport essentialA good mediatorAdaptable to an ever-changing environmentAny matters of a confidential nature, including particular information relating to patients, their treatment and diagnoses, individual staff records, details of contract prices and terms must under no circumstances be divulged or made available to any unauthorised person(s).
