This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based in South Mimms, Hertfordshire with regular travel to our office in Canary Wharf, London. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas. Government departments and agencies are working towards implementing a minimum 60% attendance in office sites. We are currently implementing a flexible, hybrid way of working, with a minimum of 8 days per month working on site to enable the collaboration and contact with partners and stakeholders needed to deliver MHRA business. Attendance on site is driven by business needs so depending on the nature of the role, this can flex up to 12 days a month, with the remainder of time worked either remotely or in the office. Some roles will need to be on site more regularly. Who are we? It is divided into 6 sub-Groups, Innovation Accelerator, Clinical Investigations and Trials, Research and Development, Standards Lifecycle, Control Testing and Quality Assurance and Health & Safety. Whats the role? The postholder will ensure the Agency meets the requirements of Health and Safety legislation and corporate Health and Safety strategy and arrangements through the implementation of the corporate Health and Safety Policy, procedures and Agency Health and Safety Action Plan. The H&S Advisor role sits within the Health and Safety Team that is part of the Science Research and Innovation Group and is supported by the Lead Health and Safety Advisor & the Deputy Director, Health & Safety and Quality Assurance. The post holder shall have key contact with the Heads of all Functions and Teams. Key responsibilities: Monitor and review the annual KPIs and regularly report to management on support and recommendations to ensure KPI targets can be met. Provide support and advice to all staff and management on all matters relating to Health and Safety Risk Management and legal compliance. Provide training and support for inductions, DSE and Manual Handling along with any other identified training needs. Contribute to the system of auditing and seeking assurance of health and safety in accordance with corporate Agency policies and procedures and the Agency Health and Safety action plan. Person specification Who are we looking for? Our successful candidate will: A NEBOSH Certificate or NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent or working towards. Communicate in a clear straightforward and engaging manner utilising appropriate methods of communications tailored to your target audience. Establish professional relationships with a range of stakeholders and collaborate with these to share information, resources and support. Experience of training development and delivery. Good planning and organisational skills with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.
