Proleptic Lecturer in Ecology and Conservation (Education and Research)
Full‑time post available on a permanent basis from 1 June 2030. Starting salary from £46,049 on Grade F, depending on knowledge, skills and experience.
Role
The post of Proleptic Lecturer in Ecology will contribute to extending the research profile of the Ecology & Conservation department at Exeter, particularly in areas related or complementary to evolutionary ecology, microbial ecology and community ecology.
The post will include conducting and leading independent research and contributing to enhancing the Faculty's international reputation. You will win research funding through external grant applications and will help identify potential income‑generating programmes and collaborative partnerships. The appointee will be asked to contribute to taught courses and to supervise undergraduate and graduate research projects for students on taught programmes. You will be expected to contribute to the overall general and academic management of the faculty.
About You
* A PhD or equivalent, and have an independent, internationally recognised research programme in a relevant active field of research;
* Current funding through a 5+ year prestigious research fellowship;
* A strong record in attracting funding for research, or demonstrate potential to attract such funding;
* An active approach to inter‑disciplinary and multi‑disciplinary research;
* Enthusiasm for delivering high quality undergraduate programmes;
* Strong connections and funded projects with business and community partners;
* Involvement in projects which develop impact.
