An exciting opportunity has arisen for a training post with the Luton and Dunstable Audiology team to become an Assistant Audiologist.
The post holder will undertake a Hospital-funded Hearing Care Assistant course provided via Anglia Ruskin University. The course lasts 9 months and includes university study, self-directed learning, and work-based training. Competencies are assessed through multiple-choice exams, a portfolio, and a practical exam. Successful completion can lead to career development opportunities, including eligibility for the FdSc Hearing Aid Audiology course.
The role includes providing patient-focused hearing aid maintenance and repair services, scheduling and booking audiology appointments (mainly paediatric), and undertaking second tester roles in paediatric clinics (training provided). The post involves conducting not masked audiometry under indirect supervision, monitoring and ordering stock, and maintaining records using the Trust's electronic procurement system.
