The post holder will support the Registered Nurse in ensuring the delivery of high quality, evidence based patient/client care upholding dignity, delivered with kindness and compassion. Provide and monitor the nursing care for a designated group of patients/clients during a care episode. Actively contribute to an effective learning
environment and support others in their learning.
The Nursing Associate (NA) is a new role to the NHS. The role bridges the gap between Healthcare Assistant and Registered Nurse. Upon qualification, the holders will be required to register with Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and revalidate. They are accountable practitioners, working within designated parameters and Standards of Proficiency (NMC, 2018).
The post holder will participate in the delivery of high standards of care to patients and their families.
To work alongside the Registered Children's Nurses in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of evidenced-based nursing care to a group of patients.
They will take responsibility for their own self-development helping to provide a suitable learning environment and high standards of clinical practice.
To support new and junior members of the team and students on placement.
To recognise own limitations and seek advice and support from senior staff.
