Location: Birmingham, West Midlands.
Working hours: Full time Monday to Friday – 10 hour days, flexible with a rota basis after training.
Capacity: Permanent position.
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum + company van/company car allowance.
This is a leading manufacturer role. Candidates will need experience within their field, ideally with fire suppression or watermist knowledge.
Responsibilities
 * Ensure all necessary equipment and service kits are ready and liaise with the office for additional supplies.
 * Maintain a professional relationship with customers and their staff, acting as a representative of the business.
 * Perform all maintenance and repair work safely and according to service instructions, ensuring removed system items are properly labelled.
 * Complete all required paperwork, whether in hard copy or via tablet/iPad, and submit them to the office in a timely manner.
 * Report all call‑outs promptly, keep your phone on during scheduled call‑out periods, and manage your schedule to avoid conflicts.
 * Maintain the allocated service vehicle in good condition, performing daily and weekly checks and submitting check sheets.
 * Drive responsibly and in compliance with all legal road requirements.
 * Maintain all work equipment, including ladder checks, PAT testing, calibrations, and pre‑use checks.
 * Ensure purchases made on the company credit card are solely for work‑related needs.
 * Maintain credit card sheets, receipts, and any paperwork required by finance.
 * Complete all assigned training courses within the allocated time frame.
 * Communicate promptly with colleagues via email, text, or phone, ensuring relevant information is passed on quickly.
 * Observe all company QHSE policies and report concerns to the QHSE Compliance department.
Candidate Attributes
 * Good knowledge of water mist fire suppression systems and the wider fire prevention sector.
 * Technical experience in similar field engineer roles; ability to pass manufacturer courses or hold relevant technical qualifications.
 * Electrical engineering qualification at least Level 3, ideally holding 17th Edition.
 * Customer focus and strong communication skills.
 * Proficiency with mobile technologies (smartphones, tablets).
 * CSCS card or ability to pass the CSCS Health & Safety Test.
Qualifications Required
 * CSCS card.
 * Driving licence.
 * 17th Edition training.
