We are delighted to be able to recruit a Biomedical Support Worker to work within the Clinical Microbiology department at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Advanced Biomedical Support Worker with good interpersonal skills and a high degree of self-motivation to join the team.
The department provides a comprehensive diagnostic bacteriology, mycology, serology/virology and molecular microbiology service. Working as an integral part of the laboratory team, you will process clinical specimens for microbiological testing, helping to deliver a high level of service quality to the Trust and the community.
To be successful, the candidate should be friendly, reliable, and flexible, with strong IT, communication, and organisational skills, and an acute attention to detail. You will rotate throughout the Microbiology department and need the ability to work under pressure and within a team.

The successful applicant will work a 37.5-hour full-time contract, with shifts between 09:00-17:30 or 12:00-20:00 Monday to Friday, and 09:00-17:00 on weekends on a rostered shift pattern. Public holiday work may also be required.

Person Specification
Education, Qualifications, and Training (Essential):
* GCSE Maths (5-9)
* GCSE English (5-9)
Desirable:
* Minimum NVQ level 3 or A level Science (preferably Biology/Chemistry)
* IBMS Certificate of Achievement part 1 or 2
Experience (Essential):
* Experience in a Microbiology Laboratory
