Responsibilities

Are you a skilled and confident communicator who can plan, develop and deliver relevant and engaging content to the right audience, at the right time, using a wide variety of channels?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a really talented team of communications professionals who are passionate about working in local government and who make a positive difference to residents’ lives every day.

The successful candidate will use their communications skills to support the strategic delivery of the council’s climate and environment priorities which will include leading communications on high‑profile projects such as ‘Love Norwich’.

You will need to be accomplished in shaping and delivering communications and engagement strategies/plans. These will require the confident use of a range of internal and external channels such as social media, video creation, websites and SharePoint.

Part of your day‑to‑day role includes media management, including providing official responses to media enquiries.

As one of the council’s key corporate services, you will be comfortable and confident when it comes to providing expert advice to elected members and officers at all levels, along with other key stakeholders.

As a skilled negotiator, you will work with individuals and teams throughout the council as well as with external stakeholders to build excellent working relationships.


Work Arrangement

This role follows the council’s 50/50 hybrid working arrangement, with 50% of time spent in the office and 50% working remotely.


Reporting

The successful candidate will report directly to the communications manager.
